I'm only going to bed, to sleep, perchance to dream of Model T's. You can't drive me off with all that ridiculous political twaddle.
If you're staying - I'm staying.
Be_Zero_Be
Me to.
Ugg. Here goes a screwed up answer.
Hark, What light thru yon window breaks. It is the East and the Model T is the sun. Arise fair sun and kill the envious General Motors cars that art far more fair than she. Be not her maid as she is envious...
I should not post after 10:00pm.
I like some of that ridiculous political twaddle! So I am still here.
It is the personal p!$$!#g contests that I cannot stand. So I don't read them.
Drive carefully, and enjoy, W2
Say "Goodnight Gracie!"
Goodnight Gracie!
I always heard, "If its too hot; get out of the kitchen". On the other hand, if you can bear the heat, stay and "come along for the ride".
I love this place. It has provided with me hours of entertainment and expanded my Model T knowledge bigtime. I'm here to stay.
With two posters modifying Shakespeare, this has to be a place for uplifting knowledgeable discourse. I enjoy this Forum immensely, may it continue to grow and inspire people, as well as entertain.
That's not Shakespeare. That's George Burns.
Im staying also.
Yea, but I allways thought George Burns made alot more sense than that Shake a spear fellow.
I think I will stay to.
Hey, I'm staying too. On the forum that is
I'm on the fence ...
Steve: If you are staying for as long as its taking the "other guy" to leave, I guess we are stuck with you for awhile Im staying too .....
"Good night, Mrs. Calabash, "wherever you are". I can't stay up past 10pm.
Mike
Burger - PUSH !!

Back at ya. Jimmie Darantie.(sp)
Good morning everyone! Want to talk about the upcoming 2020 elections? Water pumps? Type of oil? Best engine rebuilders?
Every now and then it's good to throw a cat amongst the pigeons!
Do you mean the good, the bad and the ugly!?
Ha Steve rise and shine.
It's time for Don McNeil and the breakfast club.
Bob
Ya forgot to mention steering stabilizers!!
Heh heh heh!!!
Not on the fence 'cause it's too easy to fall off and I don't bounce anymore!
It's tough typing a post while marching around the breakfast table, but I'll give it a go.
By the way, anybody know what's "wrong" with Don's suit?
Did I hear someone say Kevlar?
Looks like a zoot suit.
Burger, I hope that fence isn't topped with razor wire.
Is the coat buttoned on the wrong side? His wife dressed him!
"Take my wife....Please!"
Hint: it has to do with the war.
To the Donnie Brown up there: I hope if Steve is staying that he has the tape measure attached to his "Bib overalls" to measure his time and to see if he has room for another "T" in the back or front yard of the Farm.

It has cuffs!
It's buttoned correct.
It looks like the whole photo is reversed to me. It's weird with her being on the left side. No clue what's wrong with the suit.
The suit is too big for him.
Either the suit is buttoned right or I am wearing a girl's shirt!
In the immortal words of the late, great Slim Pickens "Oh hell, everyone"!
I'd say the suit is a early polyester Material, created during the war time effort. It has Paged or bell bottom pants lags and It's also a little large for him. The shoulders should have more padding to give him broad shoulder look of the time.
Just my guess Steve.
Bob
My Father-in-law in the 40's.
Bob
U r wearing a girl's shirt.
It takes an extra five minutes to walk from the back of those pant legs to the front. She'd be a quarter of a mile down the road before your pants caught up!
Thanks to all of you who are "staying." There are always some threads some of us should skip (perhaps skip reading them or perhaps skip posting when we are tired, upset, etc.). But there is a wealth of information on the forum. And yes, some of the information is more accurate than other information -- or it may appear that way until newer information is discovered and/or shared.
And even more importantly, I believe there are some lasting friendships that have started here. Thanks for staying and contributing and as the intro says "Post for the good of the hobby.” That is usually good for each of us also.
It’s been a long day and it is relaxing for me to check out some of what is going on, what has been discovered, and how folks are doing.
Respectfully submitted,
Hap l9l5 cut off
Thanks to all you who are dedicated skippers. Some say it looks "funny" for a grown man to skip, but what do they know, anyway ?
I am pretty sure I am not wearing a girl's shirt, not so sure about the panties though.
In the immortal (or maybe immoral) words of the Govenator Swartzenager, "I'll be Baaaack!
YIKES!! I'm not touching that one!!
David
PS, skipping? I'm just dealing with a bunion!!!
Hey Gus, it's ok to not be sure. I hear there is a lot for support out there these days for men in conflict.
Not that I would know or anything.
Skipping only looks funny when doing it with a buddy, holding hands in the isles at Hershey.
It's ok to singular skip and its ok to skip alongside your best bud. Not many will be seen skipping with their spouse or s/o, however.
just sayin'
brasscarguy
I can think of a whole lot of reasons when it's not cool to skip, but damn, I can't think of a single one when it is.
Maybe that's just me..hahaha
Based on those last two posts, methinks the name should be adjusted to "Denial" ! ;-)
I'm honestly glad you decided to stay Steve. It would have been lonely here in the Sunflower state without you. Politics come and go and will always be a pain in our backside. But those who know how to drive and work on Model T's will in time become fewer and fewer. So you need to stick around just as long as God allows.
OK, I'll stick around except for occasional swap meets or auctions out of state. But I do have to go back to L.A. every year or two to remind myself how glad I am that I got the hell out.
I waited 24 hours before telling about Don's suit just to see if anybody else could explain it. The only thing "wrong" is that it isn't the current style. It's a prewar suit that he's had for several years. Before the war men's suits had double-breasted wide lapels, usually vests, and baggy trousers with cuffs. All that went away because of the diversion of so many textile products to military use during the war. To cut down on the amount of cloth used for civilian clothes, men's styles shifted to narrower lapels, no vest, and less roomy pants with no cuffs. And now you know the rest of the story.
Got it - Steve is really Paul Harvey with the rest of the story!
The picture was taken on Thursday!
TBT -- Throw Back Thursday!
Steve, the problem with you asking what is "wrong" with this picture is that it is not "wrong" to wear something that is out of style (unless it is something from the 80s, and then it was wrong when it was in style) it is thrifty. So there was nothing wrong with the photo.
There's a certain irony to a guy who drives a Model T saying a ten year old suit is "wrong"...
In connection with Steve's wartime clothing post ...
I say, bring back the fedora! I wear mine every chance I get !
Wear it often because the potential future offerings will look like these.
OMG checked tweed and a pipe.( that would be for tobacco not weed )just to clear that up for the 00's ( naughties)generation.
David.
I aint gona go eeeetha.
Women's hair looked much better in the 80's than today. They put a little effort into it.So not everything from the 80's was bad. :>)
But from what I understand the 80's is a hard era to find anything from as far as artifacts for a movie set or something because everything had started turning into cheap made junk.
I would rather gouge my eyes out with a screwdriver than live through the 80's again. 1983-93 ... What a suck-ass time. (insert puking icon here)
I have never understood how anyone can wear a vest. A T-shirt, shirt, vest, and suit. You sweat to death in one of those outfits.
I usually just have a shirt and suit and I am still too hot.
To add to what Steve posted, it was also the first time that suit jackets didn't have to match the pants. It was call the "victory" suit.
