Please pm me with any comments about Texoma T's. I am considering sending an engine to them for complete overhaul.
I have no experience with him, but based on his classified ads, I'd plan on paying plenty. He's asking $1,250 for an aluminum Warford, when the market for those is $300-$750. In another ad, he pleads poverty when looking for transport of two Model Ts, stating "I can't afford a professional."
I have no experience with him either, but there is another post where he was selling a engine, He stirred up a lot of negative comments with a little bit of "attitude" in one of his replies. He may be a very nice guy, but I would do my homework.
I would make some comparisons with other rebuilders. Maybe you already have. There are others that don't advertise on the forum but are on the vendors and links section of the MFTCA.
Will: Lots of qualified engine builders out there with good consistent reputations. I recommend service history as the top vendor selection priority. The shop you refer to may well be qualified and price may sound good, but given the drama recently played out here, I would be especially cautious about them.
See the post that I made recently about engine rebuilders and their prices. I, personally have had short blocks done by Ross Lilliker in Texas, and Ron's and Snyder's in Ohio. All are performing satisfactorily.
Thank you everyone for your comments. I will use your advisement wisley.
I would just be done with it and send it to J and M
I would send it to George King
Eric, I pad $1000.00++ for a KC Warford, buying direct. ???
I believe what Eric was referring to was the ad for a used Warford not a rebuilt or new one. His 300 to 700 estimate is about right for a used rebuilder trans.
