I have a 26-27 teacup type taillight that needs disassembled.
It appears as though its been assembled to not take apart. However, it has to come apart to change the bulb.
Thanks for your help.
if I remember you have to bend bottom tab out to get it loose on top half circle edge
Remove the clip circle ring under the rim of the metal cup, then the cup will pull away, containing the glass tea cup lens.
The red plastic lens goes on top of the glass tea cup, the red plastic is outside , not inside the lens tea cup.
I have several extra lens and metal housings in case you break or need an extra.....just don't have an extra clip....Chet
Whether the clip ring that Dan mentioned and showed in his pictures, is present or not, the tabs on the cup are for locating in the license bracket, only, and should not be bent over. If they are bend on the backside of the license bracket, you'll have to straighten them enough to separate the cup from the bracket. If you break a tab off when straightening them, they are not vitally important if you secure the cup to the bracket with the wire clip shown. The worse thing that could happen if the tabs are broken off, is the cup my rattle a little bit if the clip doesn't hold the cup tight against the license bracket.
Thanks guys. My light does not have the circular spring clip.
I appreciate your help!
