I got ready to place an order to Lang's and was going to use a gift certificate I had received last December. I could not find the certificate, I searched the entire house for 3 days and finally gave up. I called Lang's and talked to Ashley, by just knowing the name of the person who had purchased it she checked their records and found it immediately, gave me the number to enter on the order. The whole thing took about 2 minutes.
I placed the order late on the Wednesday the 23rd, the order was delivered today, USPS. Very fast service.

I ordered a couple parts a week ago.
Received the stuff Wednesday...four days clear across the country and only THREE bucks shipping!
Great place to buy parts.
Has anyone heard from Trish, She use to lurk on here. You Out there Trish, How things going? I agree with Lang's service, it's GRRR-AAATE.
Bob
I like Lang's as well. Snyder's runs a close second. They are both great and I order from both, but if I had to pick one, it would be Lang's.
Lang's seems to go out of their way to ship items as cheaply as possible. many companies won't take the time to do that. Class operation.
I ordered several carb choke springs from Ashley a few days ago and asked her to put them in an envelope and mail them, as I usually do for small parts. She did, and when I received them two days later the shipping total was $1.93 for the parts in a padded envelope.
Many of the vendors have a $6-$8 minimum for shipping, which chaps my hide.
Any feedback on macs for T parts? I have heard good stuff about langs and snyders in the past.
My feed back for Macs is to buy your parts from anyone else. Absolutely anyone else!
Langs have been great for me. No reason to go anywhere else!
OHHHHHHH Justin. Did you ever just open can of worms.
There are a few who will eventually ride to the rescue of Mac's here, but they are few and far between. They do have a lot of nice illustrations in their catalog, but that is about all I have nice to say about them. They are in NY and I am in GA. There is definitely a culture difference and perhaps that is part of my perception about Mac's, so take this with a grain of salt. I ordered something from Mac's many years ago. I was used to my parts showing up in just a few days from other vendors I had dealt with. After about 2 weeks and no parts, I called Mac's to check on my order. The woman who answered the phone seemed to think I was expecting too much and actually made the statement that it had only been two weeks.... With a huff, she said she would get my order out the next day. Perhaps I'm too used to Southern hospitality, but I considered her behavior extremely rude and unprofessional and have no desire to do business with them again. Too many other good vendors out there. Numerous discussions on this and other boards have revealed my experience was the norm and not the exception.
Living so close to them, just two hours away means that most of my parts are on my doorstep the next day! I used macs for other projects and they sucked. So for the model t, I have only used Langs! They also have a nice online account feature that shows all orders you have made from the first one. I make sure to never leave that page up when the wife is around!
Justin,
The "good stuff" you heard about Lang's is indeed true.
Thanks for saving me the trouble on my first parts order. Langs it is for me!
I mail order from Lang's and their shipping to Canada is so fast, you'd think the border doesn't exist. Lang's is my first choice whenever possible. I admit that I often visit Mac's because I can drive there in an hour and a half and that means I can solve a crisis that always occurs the day before an important event. They have done me no wrong so far including returns and almost always have what I need in stock.
I've got a soft spot in my heart for small businesses and Mom & Pop shops, and have nothing but good things to say about those who deal in Model T parts. -For instance, there's John Regan who goes the extra mile by including a rubber seal and a powder-coated mounting bracket with his brake-light switch, and R.V. Anderson whose kingpins are the best in the world because they're case-hardened instead of through-hardened.
Then there's the family business that was so good, it became one of the BIG THREE, conspicuously large-format, thick-catalog players. -Lang's is the only one of them that you can dial up and talk directly to the head honcho (and is the only one of them that deals in parts for the Model T Ford, exclusively). -Don Lang is obstinately earnest and the attitude of his crew leaves no doubt about their sincere appreciation of your business. -When I order a part small enough to fit into an envelope, Lang's shipping charge amounts to the cost of a postage stamp.- Not so with the other outfits. -Definitely not.
Sometimes I read forum threads posted by guys who purchased tires (from whomever), the rubber of which was dry enough to crack in less than a year's time. -When you buy a tire from Lang's, it will be "drop-shiped" directly from the manufacturer who...
a.) gets a LOT of business from Lang's, and...
b.) understands that Lang's insists on satisfied customers.
Of the several tires I've purchased from Lang's, all have have all arrived devoid of the slightest flaw and absolutely stinking of very fresh rubber.
When the top-boot I ordered from Lang's didn't fit my top because it was over-size from past repairs, Don Lang had a new boot custom-made to size, exchanged it for the one I ripped while trying to get it to fit—and ate the considerable cost.
LANGS IS #1. You notice caps lock on so everyone could hear me.
Trish may be gone from Langs but not forgotten.
SPEAK UP TRISH
I make sure to never leave that page up when the wife is around! David do you also have a "T" shirt that says If I should die before I wake please don't let my wife sell my model T for what I told her I paid for it?
I agree with the favorable comments by Bob and others about Lang's. A class outfit. I'd also like to put in a good word for Chaffin's Garage. Glen is the source for many of the quality parts sold by all the dealers. It's only a two man operation, so getting through on the phone sometimes takes more than one try, but Glen and Dave are both very knowledgeable and helpful. You can be sure that the person you talk to on the phone knows the product and how to use it. As for Mac's, I keep their catalogue because the illustrations make it a good reference. But the old saying that where there's smoke there's fire applies here. No doubt lots of people buy from them with no problem, but there's a reason some folks won't deal with them. Having encountered the bad service and snotty attitude myself, I'll stick with Lang's, Chaffin's, Birdhaven, and several of the others. There's enough inconvenience and hassle in the normal course of life without going in search of it.
I have used Lang's and Snyder's. I now only use Lang's because of great customer service and no padded shipping charges.
Have ordered many times from Lang's with complete satisfaction. One huge benefit is the knowledge of the folks taking the order like Steve Lang who has helped guide me in a number of purchases. Thanks Steve!
There service is second to none. I have only strayed a couple times when it was an item they did not carry or if they had a part that was back ordered and I needed it in a hurry. Other than that, they are my first call. And I miss Trish too.
I would add to the Langs comments that, they also are "T" enthusiasts and use many of the parts they sell on their Own cars. More than once I have called with a technical question and Don, Jim or Steve have been More than happy (and patient with a newbie) to spend the 10 minutes on the phone guiding me in the right direction. The Ladies (sorry, I have not learned all your names yet) are a pleasure to talk to. Hey Don, can I get a discount on my next order? Great customer service and knowledge of the product!
Thanks for the kind words Steve. Glen
Not a complaint, merely a suggestion for Lang's cause I know they are reading this: why not build into your cart a wishlist, like Snyders site?
With the wishlist I can build an order over several days and then convert to an order later without forgetting things and having to place multiple orders and pay multiple shipping charges.
This one factor makes Snyders my first choice.
John,
What happens when you add several items to your shopping cart over a period of days - but DO NOT "check out" each day? Don't the items remain in your cart?
- - - until you either remove them, or "check out"?
Just wondering if your suggestion is already there, just not labelled as such.
Cheers,
Dave
The items stay in the wishlist until you move them. If you forget to move the items- you do not get the parts. Like any other site you must "add to cart".
It's pretty simple, really.
John,
I was wondering about Lang's cart.
Dave
I just ordered parts to Lang's is my first time, I decided to try this provider to compare with others and see where I stay, I will tell you that has been my experience.
I promise to be objective.
I had the items I ordered from Lang's (this is the order that I got when starting this thread)in my shopping cart for a couple of days before placing the order. Not sure how long they stay there.
Bill Goodheart
Our shopping cart will keep the items for up to 30 days per computer from that last activity, but if you clear your cookies your cart will also be lost. I am working on a new version of the website as we speak that will include a wish list and other new features.
Jim Lang
And I would like to thank everyone for the compliments. We take great pride in our family business
Ditto Steve's comments about Chaffin's. I like Snyder's wish list and would readily order from either or Lang's. Have also used Bob's.
Mostly I use my local parts guy because I like to pick his brain as he has forgotten more about T's than I will ever know.
Jim,
Thank you.
Dave
Oh I love Lang's too!!! I still haven't gotten o their fancy new building - shame on me!
I miss my Model T men even more. I have a great group of guys to work with but I admit I'll take a man with grease under his fingernails over those soft handed engineers any day. I just like the fact I tell them where to go for a living
I still have Dauber, but admit I've been terrible for him. I can't wait to retire and make him my focus.
Thanks for thinking of me guys - I think a lot about all of you too!
Trish, nice to see that you are still here! We do miss you! Dave
Another vote for Langs. Very user friendly for overseas buyers
This past Wednesday my wife and I took a little detour on a trip up to New Hampshire, to visit Lang's new facility in Baldwinville Massachusetts . Talk about feeling like a kid in the proverbial candy store. They could not have been more accommodating and even gave us a little tour of the place. Steve picked our list of parts and since some of the items were on back order, they would be shipped to us at no charge. Just a great group of people, and all the best to them at their new location.
All I can say is I have been buying from Lang's for the last 5 years and I could not be happier with their products, selection and service.
Happy motoring,
Warren
PS: ordered a bunch of items yesterday and told Steve I needed them today and have already got them!
Is there any truth to the rumor (from a good source) that Ben Hardeman of Texas T Parts is retiring?
Jon
Lang's website is TOO EASY to use. I just logged on to order $32.75 in parts that I really need, but did a bit more shopping "while I was ordering".
Final bill was $548
Like the rest, I have nothing but good to say about Lang's, Bob's & Chaffin's.
But let me pass on an especially good recent experience with Snyder's as well. I have a Model A that I inherited from my father and I really don't know much about the details. Recently a part of the aftermarket Float-A-Motor mount broke. I wasn't even certain what the part was when it fell off the car while I was driving. I identified it by looking at pictures in the Snyder's catalog.
So I called Snyder's. They put a gentleman on the line who had owned at least one Model A for almost 50 years. He had the exact accessory on his car. He advised that he could sell me that individual part out of a Float-A-Motor kit, but that the vibration level really wasn't any different with or without the part and I might be just as well to leave it off the car.
His advice was friendly, knowledgeable and seemingly correct. I couldn't have asked for better service. And I didn't even buy anything from him.
Dick
I had e-mailed them about a part I needed, I know they sell the part. I never got a answer back from them. 3 weeks later, I got my part else where.
pat
Pat;
Why didn't u call then instead of emailing them.
Calling on the phone is the "old-fashioned way." but it works every time.
I called Lang's Thursday and placed a small order. I was very happy to find a box on the doorstep today 2 days after ordering them! I did not expect to get them until next week.
I am sorry pat for missing your email. In general we get back to all of the email with one business day in less we are short handed. But I do have to admit we do lose email occasionally to our junk mail filters. If we ever don't respond to an email please give us a call and we will be more than happy to help you and add your email list to our email servers safe list so we don't miss another one.
Jim Lang
It doesn't mean I won't order you. In fact I have a short list of things, I am going to order from you. Just need to wait for funds to catch up again.
Pat
I ordered some bumpers from Lang’s a while back and was less than happy when i received them. Called Ashley, who put Steve on the line immediately and within 30 minutesI received a call back from him explaining the situation and making some adjustments in the billing that more than satisfied me. Great place to do business with. Prompt and courteous service with a real live human at the other end of the line!!

I went online to order from Mac's because they have an item I wanted to try out that no one else has.
I started with an order worth about $55, but the shipping was $17.99(Really?)
I reduced the order to about $38 - shipping was $10.99
I lowered the order below $30 - shipping was $8.99
I will get my part, but will not order from Mac's ever again at those rates.
I just received an order from Lang's and all went well. I just wish their toll free number worked from Canada.
