I have a chassis with some 19 inch disc wheels on it. The bolt holes are different than the 21 Chevy wheels I also have. The holes are reinforced around the hole like modern wheels. I would like to find another wheel and 3 rims for the chassis. But Im not sure what to look for. It was a project that came from a friends estate ...
Chevrolet.
1930-1931
I thought they were chevy. I remember some chevy guy explaining that chevy changed wheel sizes almost every year in the late 20s early 30s. Now Ill start looking for enough to finish out a set ... Thanks ....
i hate to disagree with Layden as he is usually very knowledgeable on these matters, but i have a 29 chev chassis here with these wheels, and lots of chev wires that i always thought were the change in 30-31. was the wire an accessory? same bolt pattern? some chev disks have no bump around the lugs, as donnie pointed out , earlier years?anyway, i have some, cheep, delivered to chickasha if you can wait
Clayton. I am interested. Chickasa would be OK. I was wrong about how many I need. I will need 2 wheels and 3 rims. Maybe more if cheap enough ...I want the style with the bumps around the lug nuts. I always set up in the south building .... Send me a PM with your contact info and Ill try to call you. Thanks ....
Chevrolet used the 5.00x19 tire size until '32. The wire wheel became standard in the '31 model year.
I believe 19" wire wheels were offered as an option in late '30. I have seen original Chevy literature showing a '30 model year vehicle with wires. However, that doesn't mean they actually offered that. We all know about the early three pedal, two lever '09 T in the brochure.
Donnie I have a pr of 19 in Chevy wheels w/ T hubs in them, one is missing its rim. they are pretty nice not all crusty rusty 100.00/pr plus UPS danuser88@ktis.net one state above you in Mo.
John I sent you a PM. Do you go to the Springfield Swap Meet this August. I go but do not set up. Are the hubs welded in. Im wanting bolt in hubs. Thanks ....
Donnie I used to go but w/ this heart valve problem, I haven't been in several yrs, but could probrably send them down w/ someone from here. The hubs are bolted in. We will try and get them down from storage and send you a photo johnd
Donnie I sent photo's to you a little while ago, my son got them down today, they were 10 feet off the floor in a shelf
John, The wheels look good. Ill e-mail you to see if we can figure out delivery. I think shipping would be high.
A year or so ago I made some adapters so that the stress would not be on the bolt holes , here are some picture if you need them
