I found this on an RV Forum. Thought some of you guys might be interested.
S&T Web Site:
"Today we announce the end of another era, the discontinuation of Microsoft Streets & Trips. We so appreciate the support of our dedicated users over the years.
This retirement will not affect software already installed. Current users may continue to use Streets & Trips to plan their travel adventures and will have online support until July 14, 2015. Streets & Trips 2013 will be available for purchase until December 31, 2014. "

Its a real shame. While there are other mapping applications that will get you from point A to point B, IMHO there are none that will let you plan a complicated trip nearly as well as MS Streets & trips.
My 2013 version will be in use for many years yet.
Bud I agree. While I currently do not have S&T on this dumb computer, I've used it religiously in the past and it's been the best. I figured Mapquest and our smartphones would be its demise.
Had my S&T many years and found it easy (for me a necessity) and very accurate except for the occasional mis-location of some places, resturants and such.
I have Rand McNally Trip Maker that I have used for 14 or 15 years, but I understand that it is no longer available, either, unless you already hav the software downloaded.
Terry,
I don't know what it's like where you are, but here in CA map software that's 14 or 15 years old is worse than useless, it can be dangerous. My car is a 2005 with a factory navigation system. It's wrong now as often as it's right. Things have changed and the CD map in the thing is out of date. On a couple of occasions I've ended up in an area I would have avoided (wrong side of the tracks, so to speak).
If you're gonna use electronic navigation systems, I strongly urge you to be sure what you're using is up to date!
I guess it was an omen when they discontinued updates on the European version a few years ago.
Street Atlas U.S.A. by DeLorme is not too shabby though, but no European version, that I am aware of.
Henry, I only use the Trip Maker for general directions, like how do I get to Salt Lake City from Houston; not from a specific address in Houston to a specific address in Salt Lake City, so in general use it works fine. To get specific address locations, I use Google maps. Yes, when I bought my Tom Tom GPS this year, it didn't even show all the streets in my subdivision (especially the one I live on) until I ran and installed the Tom Tom updates.
I tried the DeLorme software and it locked up all my USB ports looking for the GPS. Never did find it. Had to reboot to clear the mess then remove the software then reboot again. Crapware is what I call it.
For general trip planning MS Streets & Trips (and Auto Route for Europe) will be good for many years yet. Errors will slowly appear as local roads are added or decommissioned. The larger roads like state and county highways will change even more slowly.
