Approx. same location, but depth of field is different.
And the cars are more boring.
What happend to the railroad?
The Railroad was maybe a streetcar, not sure. The bridge in the back ground is a lift bridge for the Erie Canal.
In the opposite direction of the original picture, there was a Railroad Bridge over the street. It's gone now.
The canal bridge was designed so that when it was lifted, pedestrians could walk across it by taking the staircase you can see in the background of the original picture. That staircase is just barely visible in my 1st picture.
Another great picture. I also noticed an ice cream sign...old cars and ice cream what could be better
Great pictures guys! That is so cool! Wonder how many people traveling over the "modern" bridge know of it's past? In the first pic, looks like ol' Dobbin's maybe taking a drink out of what looks like a giant birdbath?
Dennis you're right, great to see old cars, ice cream, and even ol' Dobbin there....
We take our "old car" for ice cream frequently. Always a one-car show!
In the first picture, there was one English person who parked on the opposite side of the street!

I wonder what year the town finally removed the horse's drinking trough?
