I'm thinking about putting together a display of old advertising for the 1910 Model T Touring to go along with my car when I take it out to various events. I have been trying to find a source for original newspaper ads, magazine ads, etc. such as the one attached, but the resolution is so bad it won't copy well. Would be best if I can find a source for the originals. Any thoughts or help would be most appreciated.
Mitch,
The Dallas Public Library downtown has an archive of digitally scanned pages of the Dallas Times Herald and the Dallas Morning News. I bet you can find good quality images there.
-Are you planning to sell it? I would pay $950 for it but not a penny more!
Norm
Good idea Royce....thanks. I had looked on EBay and found one or two but they had already sold. I was hoping to find a source where I could purchase originals if they even exist any longer.
Sorry Norman, the price is firm at $950.01.
Mitch,
I like the Library of Congress digital newspaper collection. The search feature is good, and you are able to see the thumbnail page so you are able to open the pages that look like something of interest:
http://chroniclingamerica.loc.gov/search/pages/results/?date1=07%2F01%2F1909&rows=20&searchType=advanced&language=&proxdistance=5&date2=08%2F01%2F1910&ortext=&proxtext=&phrasetext=Ford+%22model+T%22&andtext=&dateFilterType=range&page=2
I've had large posters made using these copies, and they came out surprisingly good in my opinion:
Thanks Rob, that's another good lead. I do like the poster you had done for the '07. That's what I had in mind of doing for my '10, '11 & '26.
