Has anyone else noticed that a lot of past posts from the year 2009 are missing when you do a search with the on board search engine?

I just tried a Google search. I got several pages, but not all of 2009.

Yes, I had noticed it before and PM'd Chris about it, but never got an answer. I hope the 2009 data is recoverable!

There's some neat stuff like the huge carburetor thread (Forum 2009: Accessory Carburetors Stan Howe; Robb Wolff & ?? Collections ) that shows it's there but won't open when you click on it. It would be a shame if stuff like this has been lost.

I have the full 2009 years worth of postings but it's over 190 megs ... a tad too big for email. I've copied everything since I joined the Forum in 2005 using WinHTTrack - a free program.

Wasn't there a big host disaster about that time when a whole load of information went POOF?

That's great news, Garnet! Please PM Chris Brancaccio, I'm sure that you and he can figure out a way to transfer your set of 2009 postings back into the forum efficiently.

I believe all the posts are there. I did a quick google search on Forum 2009: Accessory Carburetors Stan Howe and called up 4 items and they all came up.

I will have a closer look.

Good to know what you saved Garnet.

Just going by the number of headers, my copy matches what's online exactly.

The accessory carburetor sting I have is from 2008;

If there was another I would like to save it.

Chris, if there is a way to determine the total size of all the 2009 posts on the forum, can you compare that size with the "over 190 Meg" figure that Garnet mentioned? That would verify that not only all the headers are there, but all the thread content as well.

Thanks to both Chris and Garnet for checking this out!

I went to the homepage and opened the listings under forum. I see the pages there and when you open them the postings are there. I might be the key words you are using or maybe try searching in the 2009 page rather then a general search.

Mark Gregush, I can get to the thread you posted above (http://www.mtfca.com/discus/messages/50893/70303.html) from a bookmark I saved years ago but can't find it through the Forum search engine using this search term (Accessory Carburetors Stan Howe; Robb Wolff & ?? Collections) searching by subject on either all topics or forum 2008.

Something is goofy.

I have found the even typing the known title in the search box, it's iffy at best. You also have to have all the correct boxes checked. I have found as someone suggested to do a Google search (may work in other search engines)like this:
mtfca; Accessory Carburetors Stan Howe; Robb Wolff & ?? Collections
Even doing a general search such as coil rebuild, type in mtfca; then what you are looking for gets more direct hits.

I have found a very quick search method which seems to work well, using the Ctrl+F function (push "Control" key and letter "F" simultaneously). Just have to type in search word and every time you push "Enter" it shows you the next entry where the word appears. A drawback is that it only works for one year's posting at a time.

I second Eric's recommendation on using Ctrl F, it works well. :-)

If you bring up google and type that for example > model t windshield mtfca 2008 < you will get these results: https://www.google.com/search?client=opera&q=model+t+engine+mtfca+2008&sourceid= opera&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8#q=model+t+windshield+mtfca+2008
