I buy stuff from Lang's, I also buy from Snyder's, Mac's,Gaslight, and any other parts supplier that advertises in in the Vintage Ford. As for smaller suppliers at shows, I buy from them also, and none have ever charged me a minimum or shipping charge. We must appreciate all our suppliers and understand that the more we eliminate, the more those that are left can charge. They would not be in business unless they could make money.
I've been in the hobby over 60 years and my most memorable purchase was 2perfect model A front fenders for $4. The little junkyards where I shopped are all gone now, and look at the price of Model A fenders today. I hope this doesn't happen to us again.
I'm another who buys from several dealers (but not you-know-who) because I want many of them to thrive. As for the loss of junk yards and the shrinking supply of used parts, that seems inevitable. Scrappers and other forces of attrition will continue to work against us. The shrinkage of supply and the resulting rise of prices may be slower than for the Model A (fewer than five million made), but we can't stop it.
