Could someone please post a picture or sketch of how to install the leather corners for the hood that keep it from scratching the paint?
Thanks
Rick
They are fitted on the rear of the hood corners with black tubular rivets.
As fitted on the 15th Million Ford (photo fuzzy from expanding the original photo to get big size)
Note, have only found these on later 1926 T's, the part # first appears in the Aug 1926 Price List.
Have seen hoods with the holes, and seen hoods for the Improved Car w/o holes in the corners of the hood panel. So early 1926 don't have these.
If someone has an early 1926 (prior to June or so 1926) with these leather corners, let me know. Believe for now that the early 1926 didn't get fancy leather there
Personally, if your hood was never drilled for them, I would apply with contact cement, so easily reversible down the road.
Thanks for that info Dan. I never knew they were actually used originally.
Thanks Dan, i skinned the cowl on my 24 really deep and have to have it repaired.
