Can someone tell me what the original diameter is on a rear axle shaft where the roller bearing rides. It seems like a lot of them that I mic on used axles are somewhere around 1.60.

Hi Steve
What books do you recommend, I have seen on multiple sites, even here, books and cd but I can not decide.
What is your opinion.

Eduardo,

I don't claim to be Steve. I recommend you try to find an original Dyke's repair manual for the Model T. They were published for many decades and show up in used book shops cheap. The text and illustrations are excellent, and very helpful.

I don't claim to be me either, but if you can 't find a Dyke's manual the MTFCA books would be my first choice. Also the Ford service manual. It was originally printed in several languages, so you might find it en espaņol.

This is an old drawing for those that wanted to make their own axle(s) back in the day. It says 1 1/16" which is 1.0625".

Royce, that picture of the internals of the transmission is the best picture I have seen for showing the key working parts, thanks for posting it!
