Hi All,
Perhaps a dumb question, but, I want to hook up my headlights to the battery as opposed to mag as Annie is not running well on mag currently. Will the original or repop switches work ok on 12v? Also, what color wire was used. I would use red or other than black for the leads to positive and black for the ground. Is this correct to be original?
Thank you as always!
Patrick
Hi Patrick - I suggest you contact Bob Bergstadt at Bob's Antique Auto Parts as he makes the re-production headlight switches for the '15's and 16's and will be able to help you. If you don't have his contact information, look under vendors and suppliers on this site.

I run 12 volt on my 1915 to all my lights. I have a dedicated battery for that purpose and use the stock 1915-1917 light switch with no problems.
I've wired a brake light switch and dual filament bulbs as well. I have nice bright brake lights! (all my lights are 12 volt)
The car itself starts and runs on the mag.
From personal experience, the reproduction switch from Bob's functions perfectly on six or twelve volts.
My 16 has battery operated headlights for safety and I also repurposed a Bob's switch on my Fordor for the dome light.
Thanks everyone. I have a call into Bob.
