I have two Stewart speedo swivels, both in excellent condition with much of the original gold paint intact, both are 6 : 1 ratio, one left hand and one right hand.
Part no. 1962 is RH, dated March 1920
Part no. !963 is LH, dated Jan 1924 according to Russ Furstnow's excellent book.

Can anyone tell me what vehicles used these 6:1 ratio swivels? I do not need them and would gladly trade either one for a 2.5 : 1 ratio for a T.

Allan from down under.

Don't know if they are for a car or not. I understand they were still made up until the 50s for certain forklifts? I know you can swap out the internals to a 2:1 if the housings are good.

Might be for a bicycle or motorcycle too.

Allan,
The 1962 swivel was used behind the transmission on early Buicks. The driven gear was mounted to the drive shaft, and the swivel was mounted to a bracket off the back of the transmission.
I hope this helps,
Russ Furstnow
