Wow - check out them "neckin' blinds" !!!
Now Steve, I had the same thought but resisted the urge to comment.
Actually one of the main reasons for the blinds in the rear windows was for night driving. With all the glass on a vertical plane, the reflections of headlights on the rear windows would glare on the windshield making it very hard to see where one was going.
By the way, she is a very good looking young lady, but the grass needs mowing!

We have "neckin'" blinds in the passenger compartment of our '19 Centerdoor and perhaps Norman is correct as to the reason for the rear window but I believe the side curtains were completely for "privacy" !
Norm, I'd mow that grass if you get my drift.
I'll back Norm up on that. First time I drove my Fordor at night the headlights from crosstraffic at a stop sign bounced around about 20 times off all the vertical glass and I couldn't tell what was going on or even pin down for sure where the oncoming traffic really was.
