I am working on a new restoration ( 1915 ) and I was getting ready to fire it up and I have a coil box problem. IT is wired correctly, however when I put the switch over to coil, I get nothing buzzing. Rotate the engine to see if anything changes, nope.
I can put a ground wire clip on the bar across the bottom of the box, and touch each top terminal and I can get a coil to buzz. I am assuming that there is a problem in my switch or the wire that runs from the switch to the battery terminal. Correct? anywhere else I should look before I take anything apart?
Turning the switch to BAT there should be battery + voltage on the bar at the bottom of the box. If this does not happen you need to find out why.
The timer provides ground to the terminals at the top of each coil.

The second part of your message above is baffling.
I am in the shop this afternoon. Give me a call and perhaps I can assist.
