Stupid or sly seller doesn't show the business side, or the type/serial#.
I wouldn't bet on being NOS either. It just looks stripped and cleaned to me.
any one else have any thoughts about this head? rocker assembly would have to be made i assume, or is it any common parts from some thing else? the rajo's show how much has been milled off by how much is left of the spark plug boss, any way of telling on the fronty? i am interested in bidding, but have no clue what to look for with a fronty. thanks, for any tips
Whether it's a R S or T style head makes all the difference. Mine is stamped like R12345R . Modern valves are available for the R head. Rockers could cost.
I would not bid on that thing with so few pix. . It could have killer cracks.
Depth of the chambers, look like a "T".
so r-s and t means different compression, valve size and or rocker ratio, i'm guessing, which is which?
Was this listed before? Seems I remember a so called NOS Fronty head. I would never even consider this head with out a certified magnaflux report.
I'm guessing it was a project someone started to restore and found issues with cracks, valve seats or damage beyond reasonable repair. Looks like it was hot tanked and inspected and then someone quit.
As a person who has owned and ran rocker arm Front'ys, Single overhead cam and dual overhead cam Fronty's these heads can be a real money pit. The material a Fronty was cast from is not near the quality of a Rajo. Ask any cast iron welder.
So if there are internal cracks plan on spending a lot of money.
just sayin'
