Yesterday I was driving my T at 47mph in a 55 zone which changed to a 45 zone at the foot of a hi-rise bridge. I went to full throttle and topped the bridge at 37mph. Most of the traffic behind me moved over to the left lane and went around me, so when I topped the bridge I just left the throttle wide open and got up to 55mph before stopping at the traffic light on the other side. I looked over to the right lane and there was Mr Highway Patrol. He gave me a stern look and wagged his finger at me. :-( Then he flashed a quick grin and a thumbs up :-)
I really should check my mirror more often!

Did he look like Broderick Crawford?

A friend of mine was pulled over one time and told "I really should give you a ticket, but the judge would never believe something this old could go that fast. Just be careful".
Do drive carefully, and enjoy, W2

Eric, it's the original engine but with hi comp alum pistons and a 3:1 rear axle. Top speed is about 50 but I was running down hill at the time.

I wasn't so lucky a few weeks ago. I got a "performance award" for 39 in a 25. The cop had a grin on his face you couldn't wipe off with a Brillo pad.

On the New London-New Brighton a few days ago, one driver was pulled over for not coming to a full stop at a stop sign. He told the cop that, if he hung around, he'd be able to give 60 tickets at the same intersection for the same offense. The cop let him go.

I hope you have good brakes and that your wheels are in good condition!

Forgot to mention, I have disk brakes and the wheels were professionally rebuilt 2 years ago using hickory spokes. Also new everything in the front and rear axles. My normal touring speed is between 35 and 40. The 3:1 rear axle really drops the engine speed so it doesn't blow itself up. The original axle ratio was 3.63:1, which means the engine now operates at the same RPM at 36.3 mph as it originally did at 30 mph.

Ok, sounds like you've got things under control with disc brakes and all. :-)
