Dealing with Messy stock timer maintenance every 200-500 miles is a real drag, especially the clean up..... until now. Check out this amazing high tech method for fast, efficient clean up.

Heck, I think there is a good chance Ron, Royce and Hal may even give it a try.

That was too "cool"!! LOL However......timer maintenance is little worry with the TW carbon brush timer. Just put one on my '15 yesterday after running one a year on the '12 with no problems. The new one's now have a neat little wire gizmo to greatly aid positioning the brush while sliding on the cover. The swap out was all of 15 minutes. Runs great. Maybe remove it once a year to wipe it out is all, not sure even need to do that.

I'm still laughing Mike.... Good one and I thought you may have regressed back to an old stock timer.

Tim, Of course you know with an Etimer you don't need that little piece of wire thingy and will never wear out any little carbon brush either. Just saying.

Great video for a morning LOL

I don't have a link but I heard where someone was saying the foundation that the donations go to has reported a 400% increase in donations since the ice bucket challenge started getting big.

Generosity Continues with Ice Bucket Donations Reaching $41.8 Million

Washington, D.C. (August 21, 2014) — As of Thursday, August 21, The ALS Association has received $41.8 million in donations compared to $2.1 million during the same time period last year (July 29 to August 21). These donations have come from existing donors and 739,275 new donors to The Association.

The ALS Association’s mission includes providing care services to assist people with ALS and their families through a network of chapters working in communities across the nation and a global research program focused on the discovery of treatments and eventually a cure for the disease. In addition, The Association’s public policy efforts empower people to advance public policies in our nation’s Capital that respond to the needs of people with ALS.

For more information, please contact Carrie Munk at cmunk@alsa-national.org.

About The ALS Association
The ALS Association is the only national non-profit organization fighting Lou Gehrig’s Disease on every front. By leading the way in global research, providing assistance for people with ALS through a nationwide network of chapters, coordinating multidisciplinary care through Certified Treatment Centers of Excellence, and fostering government partnerships, The Association builds hope and enhances quality of life while aggressively searching for new treatments and a cure. This is great. Our club, The Greater Milwaukee has participated in an MS Walk the last few years. There isn't any ice involved, but sometimes rain drops. Model T people understand the need and will step up to the plate for things like MS and ALS.

Keep it up.
Mike

Thanks for the great feedback, I thought of you Ralph immediately when I received the challenge which of course inspired the Model T theme after watching Bill Gates method. Glad to see Rob, Dave and other fellow Model T enthusiasts participating in fund raising and the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge.

Gosh, the silence from the three challenged is defining considering only about 17 hours remaining to put up or pay up. Is it possible all three simultaneously missed a post involving the beloved stock timer?

Mike, Thanks for your thoughtfulness. I like many of us here probably did not realize what the ice bucket craze is all about.
I hope everyone here will accept the challenge as I did and join in to help out a great cause and one that has hit one of our dear members here on the forum.

If everyone here would give something, even a small amount, in the end this turns out to be something huge.

Please don't just think the other guys will do it and that I don't count. It is all of us together that adds up!

Gene,
I agree, every bit will make a difference, especially when a large group such as our forum members become involved.

Mike, thank you for bringing this to our attention.

Dave, better work on that tan. Oh, I forgot, your winter is about to begin..... :-)

Rob

Sorry about the tan Rob, but being a pure blooded Dane tends to keep me white. Plus the dermatologist just removed 3 precancerous spots on my head and arms, so there won't be a lot of tanning anymore.

With two teenage daughters in the house, I think you need to do that challenge again with a big bucket of ice. Turning the hose on your face just doesn't do it. I wanna see a REAL ice challenge.

I still haven't seen any comments from Royce, Ron, John, or Hal yet. Maybe we need to retitle this post E-timer and see what happens. But then this post might get censored out of existence.

Having a family branch with Huntington's Chorea in their genes it's especially important for these orphan diseases to get all the help they can!

Thanks for the support, guys.

I think this is the most publicity ALS has received since 75 years ago, when Lou Gehrig made his famous, "I am the luckiest guy on earth" speech. Precious little has been learned since then.

The ice bucket challenge is sweeping down under. My sons soccer coach took the challenge yesterday and has now challenged my wife! Keep in mind it is Winter down here. Fortunately the sun was shining yesterday.
