That look great. That will be my next winter project.
Here's one on our 15 roadster pickup along with some period trade journal ads.
I recently pulled out the rear end in my '13 runabout. It had one of those truss rods in it. I haven't decided whether to reinstall it or not. I have a stock rear end in my '13 touring, and have had for over 50 years, and it doesn't seem to care.
Well Larry that's the Question dad says it should not need it our 12 uses the 13 rear end. So the question is to use a truss or let it be?
I think period accessories are cool. I have period under the front axle secondary wishbones on my 1911 and 1915.
If I were you I'd make sure the axle housings are straight, then restore and clamp the truss on. There is no cutting or drilling, so no damage is done to the car.

I know this thread started back in August but I just want to say I showed a set of these a while back on here and that I had reproduced this style set using an original set as a pattern. I didn't have the original rod centering piece that mounted to the center of the differential and just had to make up a pattern needed for casting. After that post I got three guys that wanted a set, however, they all had to send me the OD of their outer flanges since it seemed these flanges differ greatly in size during production. One guy has an early style rear axle which needs a centering piece like Mr. Boer is showing on his. Jay your style shown with the two piece rods connected at the center would make for an easy way for shipping rather then the longer one piece as I have shown but I'm doing just the ends and center piece and the customer will need to come up with 1/2" steel rod and thread the ends. If any of you three read this and are wondering I do have them cast and now just need to machine them to the OD's sizes you sent me so bear with me. Bob
