Who restores/sells period speedometers?
I was able to attend Hershey a couple of years ago and ran across a dealer with multiple restored complete speedometer set ups. He wasn't at his booth at the time so I didn't get his contact information.
Contact Russ. He wrote the book(s):

DO NOT get one from Antiquespeedometer.com. There have been numerous complaints about them on this Form.
My own experience with them was not good. I sent them a check for $600 advance payment on a beautiful Jones brass speedometer ($1200 total). Fourteen months later after many attempts to contact them, I put a stop payment on the check and gave up. When they finally contacted me, I had sold the car and was working on a different one.
They are completely unreliable and unresponsive.

Jon
Another contact for speedometer work is Dave Huson.
