We're ready to go. Mounted the new Prest - O - Lite tank, lit the lights, it all works good. Hooked up the Ruckstell, drove with it & it works good. The Ruckstell in low range is just right for the slow speeds in Greenfield Village. Changed the timer and carburetor, car runs nice now.

Now, if the rain just holds back for the weekend. The forecast is for some rain on Saturday, though. Ya, we've been wet before...and we have a full set of side curtains for the '14.

I understand that the OCF is absolutely sold out. A friend tried to register and was told that they are at the maximum car capacity. I wonder how many cars that is? Anyone know?

Keith

Keith, the OCF is expecting over 900 cars this year. Last year they ended up with 200 more than the previous year which was 600 plus. Some of the cars were parked way off the beaten path, so it will be interesting to see how they fit them all in.

Bud, I hope our paths cross this year. I will be in the judging area along with the Fordor and Coupe I restored. My brother will have his Model A there also. He will also have the trailer behind the A so be on the lookout.

There will be lights, it's just that some of them won't be as bright as they should be as my generator just died. I guess I will find out just how good my battery really is. At least my kerosene side lamps will be working for the first time. See you all there.

Dave, too bad you don't have a pair of magneto bulbs handy to swap out

Never thought of that one Tim. My car does run and start on magneto. I will make sure my battery is fully charged. The light show only runs an hour or so and I will make sure my battery is fully charged before hand. It's just that after 95 years, it has to quit right before the OCF.

Dave, Be careful not to connect battery to the mag side of your coil box when shifting from battery (generator) lights to magneto lights. That would zap your magnets.

I'll be there with my 1916 touring.

No problem Thomas. I won't be changing any bulbs or wiring around. My excellent battery should be fine and I will see if it needs a bit of charging. I would be hand cranking throughout the festival anyway. I might even do it all on mag until the end of Saturday thus saving my battery for the light show. I will also bring my charger just in case. I also have enough kerosene to light my way home.:-)
