yesterday when I pulled our pie truck out of storage the battery was (new) enough to start it once. I had to hand crank it to get it from the filling station to the 18 wheeler hauling it to the old car festival. I need help as I am flying in later this evening. can anyone meet me at the Dearborn hotel with a new battery ( WHICH I WILL PAY FOR TIME AND EXPENSE) Saturday morning 7 am and help install. IT WOULD SUCK if we can not drive it and with a low battery and the colder weather I don't think hand cranking will work. Please email me with a number at Pies@CoCoPieCo.com and thanks in advance MIKE COPPERTHITE
Mike, we are talking 6 volt right. Whoever is going to help you needs to know for sure.
Why battery? Jack up one rear wheel and crank it on mag with the spark lever advanced a few clicks. Worked for millions of Ford owners before 1919
no it has a 12 volt system.. sorry.. and why battery.. it has an alt. and I have hand cranked it twice with success. I have hand cranked it about 50 times with no success. when it is warm and when there is some battery life hand cranking works. have yet to get it to work any other way.
help please. and thanks mike
