HI I am Tony, and own a 1923 Ford model t touring and my wheels all the paint is peeling off and looking to get them restored and repainted. Can anyone recommend somebody in the staten island area to do such work and looking to get rocky mountain brakes installed as well? PLease Help! Thanks
Tony, if restored means new wood I doubt that you'll find anybody in Staten Island, Long Island, or Joisy. For that you'll probably need the wheel specialists in PA (Calimer) or OH (Stutzman). If all the wheels need is paint, any body shop should be able to handle that if you don't want to do it yourself. Being cheap, I'd bring out the sandpaper and the rattle can of Rustoleum.
For the Rockies, I expect you'll have to find them yourself. Maybe some forum member near you will recommend a shop to install them.
I lived on S.I. for 20 years and although Steve's probably never been there he's right. The only T guy I knew on S.I. was me and I'm not there any more.
Charlie, ... I think the statute of limitations expired and you can go back now.
"I used to work in that town." Anybody old enough to remember that show? Even Google doesn't bring it up. Actually I have been to S.I. Drove through there on my way to Booklyn, Port Washington, Manhattan, etc. But what little I know about it is from armchair travels.
Tony,
If all your spokes need is some new paint, then there are lots of threads on here about the best way to do that. If the spokes are loose or need replaced, there are threads here for that too but you may want to checkout Calimers or Stutzmans.
