My most valuable haul to date ...
Just dropped today in Arizona
One of 49 built, this 1958 Ferrari Ellena is widely agreed to be Ferrari's first production vehicle.
This one was unknown for (40) years, it is a complete car with matching number frame, body, chassis, engine, tranny.
A complete car - it came with wooden crates carrying the dis-assembled pieces.
Mid six figure value as found.
Seven figures once restored ...
Jim
First production car? What a crock that is.
Aaron,
" Designed by Pinin Farina, the Boano/Ellena Grand Touring cars are generally considered to be Ferrari's first series-built production cars.
They were not exactly mass-produced by today's standards since only about 50 Ellena Coupes were built,
but nevertheless it was the first time Ferrari made this many cars of similar configuration. "

Is it really worth what you have posted? look up resent sales of restored 57/58 Ferrari Ellena's and they fall well short of any 7 figures in any part of the world.
Frank,
This car was owned by Clairence Daniels for (40) years.
He won top honors at Pebble Beach (7) years with the cars he built in the early years when guys got together simply to recognize & honor their fellow car lovers ....
I had the great privilege of meeting him - learning about his life and the life of this particular Ferrari on Monday.
I bought him breakfast - then we were at his place from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. loading this Ferrari along with several wooden crates ....
Probably one of the best days with a car guy ever.
I do not get the appeal of Ferraris ....
But I respect the passion of guys who love them.
There are a handful of Ferrari Ellenas left,
actual information is hard to come by, auction results are just one indicator.
This is a documented complete matching numbers car.
Depending on who does the restoration, it is expected to bring between 1.2 and 1.5 million at auction.
Those are not my numbers, those are estimates from folks a lot more knowledge than me ...
Jim
Thanks Jim.
But I think some one would be putting a high price on it's history then.

If your trailer was lost or destroyed, would your insurance cover the damage payout for that sum?
Ed,
This car was insured by the Buyer.
A binder issued by my insurance company for the haul would be more than the cost of the haul ....
