Rather than step on a Cab/Truck body discussion, I want to offer the attached. Is it fair to say that not all Ford commercial truck bodies were constructed by the FMC but were constructed by independent body builders and the hardware was manufactured by other independent suppliers?
Yes. Even after the truck cab was added in 23 or 24 up to even today you could buy just the chassis to build your own body to fit your needs. When that catalog was published all Ford supplied was the truck chassis with no cab or body.
Add to that; you could buy just the passenger chassis to do the same thing for light rigs.

And here I thought we were going to discuss serial killers and dismembered bodies and such !
Great post George. Thanks for showing that catalog.
Let me rephrase this, "Is it fair to say that not all Ford commercial truck bodies were constructed by the FMC but were constructed by independent body builders and the hardware was manufactured by other independent suppliers?"
The Ford commercial chassis as associated with the Model T truck TT was manufactured from 1917 to 1927. From periodicals for body builder (coach works) the literature indicates that for 8 years Ford did not build any commercial truck bodies. This was up to independent sources such as Hercules body works, Gammon Dump Bodies, and others by 1925 FMC began to produce commercial bodies. The last two years of the TT 1925 o 1927 Ford produced its own commercial bodies. Therefore up to 1925 independents were building the bodies not Ford.
After the above statement, there may be dismembered bodies.
