Hi everybody. I would buy a set of taps ad dies to work on my Ford T. I saw the common sizes used on the car is : UNF : ¼-28 , 5/16-24, 3/8-24, 7/16-20, ½-20, 9/16-18, 5/8-18. Are they other size I need? Do you know where I could buy a set in USA because in France it is not so easy to have good equation between quality and price.
Thank you for your help.

I don't know if their quality is still as good, but I have received excellent service from the Sears Craftsman tap and die set that I bought 30 years ago.

Go to Ebay and check out the tap and die sets people have for sale. That's one item that you can get a great deal on.
There are some Crasftman, Snap-on and other good older sets that show up pretty often.

There are several other sizes too. Here's a list showing most of the chassis fasteners: http://clubs.hemmings.com/ncmtc/Technical/Bolts_nuts_threaded_items.pdf

For advice on where and what to buy, I hope we'll hear from Andre, Olivier, and some of the other guys in Europe.

Tapping fresh metal or cleaning holes?

If cleaning holes make sure to get flat bottom taps
