I want to install later steering gears in my '24.
Do I have to change the housing or can I just change the guts? (shaft, 3 small gears and stub shaft that the wheel goes on)
Just the guts!
That was quick!
Thanks Jack.
I'm looking for a stock '27 column that is ready to go or close to it. I hope that this will be just as fast.

Bob: If you really want to upgrade your steering buy the oversize gear set. Only the pinion shaft is oversize (.005?) and it will take out all slop in the worn steering gear cover. You will have to hand ream the cover, using an adjustable reamer. Ream until you get a snug slip fit of the pinion shaft in the cover. Before you put any parts in the column, fit the gears and pinion shaft on the steering shaft. If they seem to tight put some valve grinding compound on the gears and rotate until free. I used a steering wheel on the set up to easily rotate the gear set assembly. Doing this and shorting the entire column 3.5 inches makes driving my '25 Fordor a real joy.
Jack, that is the nicest colour scheme I have seen on T for a long time. She looks classy.
Allan from down under.
Very nice Fordor Jack.
Thanks a bunch for your help.
