Model T Ford Forum: Forum 2014: Stumbled upon a TT chassis

I happened upon a rather tired looking TT chassis sans cab - hood is rusty and bent, radiator is damaged, useable front fenders and short running boards, headlights, complete engine, complete steering system, firewall, wooden spoke wheels are pretty shot. There is no body on the truck. Owner is asking $800. Seems a shade on the high side to me, but would appreciate any advice from veteran TT owners.
Thanks, Mike G. in Palmer, Texas

Pictures?
Apart from the wooden spokes, the condition of the steel parts in the rear wheels is also important - rims and brake shoes are hard to find.

With guys selling just an old "as found engine" in the $500 range,That isn't such a bad price.

Mike,

That is exactly what I'm looking for. If I was in Texas, I'd be hooking up my flatbed with cash in hand.

I paid a lot more than that for my chasie, with no cab, not running. Sounds pretty good to me, without photo's. Still trying to get mine on the road.

Tom, that is a few hours away from me and would be a great deal for someone in my eyes. I would be happier between $1600-2000 though. Still that is a great start for someone.

You guys are so insensitive...Mike are you OK? When you stumbled upon the TT chassis I hope you didn't twist and ankle or skin your knees.

That eBay TT chassis seems like a good deal. Ruckstell, Warford and all the modifications. That all takes a lot, even if you do it yourself.
No idea on the engine, but how hard can that be?
I have done that before and am doing it again now. Gladly pay $2200 to have it already done.

Yes, I thought it seemed pretty good too. One TT is enough for me, I have no room.

I stumbled on a TT chassis too. I just wanted the Ruckstell rear end complete, but had to take the whole chassis. Anyway I got what I needed and then more...like I need more. Arrived yesterday.
TT delivery

Both you guys need to watch where you walk and pick up your feet. Also, you may need to cut down on your drinking to quit stumbling so much.

In Georgia on I-75 between Chattanoga, TN and Mayretta, GA near Adairsville GA, There is a place called OLD CAR CITY. Located in this place is a Model TT. I know it rs there or was, because my brother went there 2 years ago to take some photos
of a couple of 56 Olds 88 hardtops I was thinking of buying for parts. Today I called my brother and asked him to go & see if still there, how much, and does it still run. "Was running when parked." Any one interested can contact me at
315-493-2148, any time.

You gentlemen will have to excuse my writing or should I say my key boarding. Mistaekes can occur by an individual who suffered a heart attack in 2009, followed by three strokes which paralyzed me. I am a lucky one and cherish each day especially when I can do some work on my T. My Cousin Jim Golden is betting It will be a lot longer. I put this here because I saw mistakes in last post above
