I have noticed a very common problem on T's I am familiar with, and around is the steering wheel wobble from the short steering shaft, through the top of the steering gear box due to wear. On my car at certain rpms if you are not holding onto the wheel, like at a traffic light it produces a very annoying rattle.
I work for a company who is a large local 3M distributor. I got a sample roll of a 5300 series UHMW tape (there are different part numbers for varying thicknesses). I got it to line my leaf springs. It is intended as a slippery self lubricating surface, and has a very aggressive adhesive.
I cut a short piece to fit the steering shaft, and it eliminated the play. Now the problem is the darn stuff is exceedingly expensive, a 1" wide roll on Amazon is $61.00. Maybe if a club bought a roll, i could be shared
