Were Torpedo / Open Runabout speedometer cables 4 ft. or 5 ft. in length (or something in between)?
With all the unique parts they use, I wasn't sure if the 2 in. setback had an effect on the cable length.
It doesn't have too much effect because while the dash was back 2", the dash was also shorter and the floor board mated up to the dash such that there was no need for a dash shield so the speedo could easily have been mounted a bit lower. Not too hard to make up 2" with a little bit here and there.
Thank you for the input, John. That aligns with my thinking. So, does that mean it should be 4 ft? I am also unsure of the standard for regular production cars.
