Anyone bought these signal sets and received them? Looks good, though expensive. Problem is, they are always listed as on b/o. Is this a real deal or a scam of some kind. I've been looking at the web site for over a year and nothing seems to change. Can't seem to get any answer by phone either. Lloyde
If I recall, someone on the forum got a demonstration set for free from the manufacturer, can that person give us an update on how they worked out?
Lloyde, you can buy them from the museum. Go to the MTFCA site, then Museum, and then Gift Shop. They call them e-lights.
I found the earlier thread on the smart signals give-away set:

Thanks Jeff, but e lights are one light with arrows to show turn, where the smart signals are 4 complete signals that are magnetic and wireless. They also function as emergency flashers and are supposed to act as brake lights from a small sensor that works kind of like trailer brakes. Priced at over 350.00, but the nice thing is you can remove or install in a minute, and put them on any car you want.
The e-lights work great on my 14 touring.
According to what I have heard, the magneto interferes with the wireless signals. So the wireless ones don't work reliably.

Jon
One of our customers got a set, he loves them. Having more then one car they work great. Can't help with any more info as I don't know when I will see him next to ask where he got his. Could be on BO if the demand is greater then the supply.
I sent in an order for these on September 11, 2014. I'm still waiting. They have never cashed my check yet. I have talked to John Petersen several times by phone and sent e-mails on average of every 2 months. Jay Leno apparently got a set because they sent a picture of his package. I note the web site keeps getting updated with new or changed information so something must be happening, I just haven't received a package yet. My order was right when they made a change adding tail/marker lights and after that brake lights. Its a neat product and I still want them. It started out a one or two person operation, but supposedly its being built by another firm now. I've put my e-mail address on there site twice to be informed about delivery, but haven't received anything yet. Their web site is www.smartsignals.com
I have two sets of e-lights from the Egypt Garage, and they work great. I do recommend using lithium batteries in the signal unit on the back of the car though. Once even one of the 3 batteries starts to get weak, the unit quits working. Lithiums outlast the alkalines a whole bunch.
Correct the year to 2013 in the above post
