Go to your profile and click the box that says,

"Remember my username and password in a cookie".

There is also a box you can check if you want the cookie to be deleted when you leave your browser. :-)

Like the model T, this site has a mind of it's own. My browser is set up right and works with all my applications except this one. My profile is set up right with all the correct boxes checked, but the best I can get is my username IF I prompt the box with the first digit.

Life is too short to worry about it. Just like my Ford if I set my jaw just right she'll start every time!

In firefox I had to type the first letter of my user name, in Google it remembers. It could be your browser.

Does not work here. I have the above box checked but I still have to enter my username and password every time.

The remembering of the user name is a function of your browser and how it accepts cookies. The remembering of the password is also a function of your browser and internet explorer has long had a flaw in this area. In short, if your using IE as your browser you can pretty much count on having to type in your username and password every time.

Very simple answer and I don't know why people resist using it. Get the "Pale Moon" browser (assuming your using windows), and you'll never type username or password again. Below is a screenshot of the area below where I'm typing right now:

I did NOT type the username or password - Pale Moon remembered them and filled them in. Pale Moon is faster, safer and better behaved than IE. Just google "Pale Moon".

BTW Pale Moon is not experimental. It is a cousin of Firefox and has been around a LONG time.
