I have a 1921 Speedster with a stock motor. Is there a replacement muffler available that will improve the sound and not hurt performance?
Maybe Seth can talk you into getting one of his "zoom zoom" setups?

I believe what I have is a F0-11 tractor muffler. Works just fine on my Speedster. Mike uses one on his Tudor and it works well for him, too.
I have a couple of the FO-11 mufflers (available from Tractor Supply) but have not run one yet. The guys that I know that do run them say they are slightly louder than stock. Since you can look straight through them they could not hurt performance.
I have two FO-11 mufflers on two of our cars and the both work well. No back firing and a real nice tone, especially with the spark retarded when idling. I don't think they improved the performance.
I have a muffler from a Ford 8-N tractor on our car. I suspect the FO-11 mentioned above is the same. No Tractor Supply stores in our neck of the woods.
Talk slow, think fast.

This does not answer your question,
But I got my FO-11 muffler via Amazon. It is also available on Ebay.

Tractor Supply price is about the same as Kirk's Amazon price. TSC has several similar mufflers to choose from. Prices vary as to what the muffler was originally intended for.
I have paid that much for some FO-11's over the years, but the last couple I got from TSC were about $18.95. Maybe so many of us T'ers are using them that they're now a higher-volume part.
Thread driff
Our TSC just opened a few months ago. The Group 1 Battery price beats any in town and dog food is half the price.
