October 2014
The Model T Ford Club of America/Model T Museum has been included in the Challenge Match Grant for 2014 held by the Wayne County (Indiana) Foundation.
The Wayne County Foundation has granted the MTFCA $10,000 in matching funds for donations received November 10-21, 2014. The Foundation will match every donation (up to $1,000) the MTFCA receives during the time period.
An anonymous MTFCA member has agreed to “match-the-match” (up to a total of $20,000). This means that qualifying donations will be tripled.
For example: A donation of $100 is received during the qualifying period. The Foundation matches the amount and the donation is worth $200. The anonymous donor matches the donation as well, resulting in a total donation of $300.
Please help us reach our goal! Donations can be mailed to the MTFCA office, charged to a credit card, or donated online at www.mtfca.com.
Donations must be made between Monday, Nov. 10 and Friday, Nov. 21.
All donations are tax deductible.
Please email me at barbara@mtfca.com or call me at 765-855-5248 if you have questions or need more information.
Thank you!
I prepared a News Release of sorts that includes details of the Match Grant awarded to the MTFCA/Museum and the MTFCA member who is matching it.

Matching Grant from Wayne County Foundation (Indiana)
“Match-the-Match” from MTFCA member.
The Model T Ford Club of America and the Model T Museum (“Club”) is pleased to announce that the Wayne County Foundation, through its 2014 Challenge Match Initiative, has granted the Club a matching grant up to $10,000, plus a chance to receive bonus bucks for over-achieving our goal. An MTFCA member (who wishes to remain anonymous) has agreed to ‘match-the-match’ up to $20,000.
The Matching Grant runs Monday, Nov. 10, 2014 through Friday, Nov. 21, 2014.
Donations must be received during this period to be counted!
1. The Wayne County Foundation will match 1:1 donations up to $1,000 per donor per individual and/or business. (Husbands and wives with separate accounts can each donate up to $1,000.)
2. An anonymous MTFCA member will match the total of donations and Matching Grant up to $20,000.
3. Donations must be received Nov. 10 thru November 21, 2014.
Donations can be made for the benefit of our Club and Museum through www.mtfca.com; through www.waynecountyfoundation.org, by check, or by calling Barbara Klehfoth at 765-855-5248 with a credit card.

The Model T Ford Club of America and the Model T Museum are honored to be selected by the Wayne County Foundation to participate in this grant. Our sincere appreciation to the MTFCA member who is offering to ‘match-the-match.’ These two grants are a great show of support for the MTFCA, Model T Museum and the hobby; and a great opportunity for our Club and Museum. Please contact Barbara Klehfoth at Barbara@mtfca.com or 765-855-5248 if you have questions or need more information. Thanks for your help!
All donations are tax deductible.
Great Deal! I'll be "in".
Barbara,
Thank you so much for letting us know. And for some of us, we would really appreciate a reminder on Nov 10! Again thank you for all your help and support.
Thank you also to the anonymous MTFCA member who is graciously matching the match.
I'll be in -- but a reminder will be greatly appreciated.
And thanks to all of the folks who will also contribute as well as those who have already contributed. I'm very proud of our museum. I believe it does a great job of promoting our cars and hobby.
Respectfully submitted,

I am in as well ...
Let's keep this near the top of the forum.
C'mon guys .....

The Arkansas Tin Lizzies will have our quarterly meeting in conjunction with our tour next week. I am going to suggest that we make a donation to the Museum from the club treasury. I hope other clubs will do the same while this window exists for tripling the money the Museum will receive.
Oh -- I almost forgot. Many thanks to the Wayne County Foundation for helping the Museum flourish, and many thanks as well to the MTFCA member who is so generous to "match the match." That's awesome!
If you go to our new website www.modeltmuseum.com you can down load a pdf with all the information regarding the Wayne County Grant program. You could take this to your chapter meetings or insert it into your news letters.
Our Indy 500 Chapter took a vote at our last tour/ meeting and is sending a donation. I encourage all chapters to support this cause no matter what the amount you can contribute.
I made a post here yesterday evening and I guess it did not stick.
Any Hoo count me in. ( I have an ancestor whose name was Lady Ann Hoo, no kidding

I want to keep this topic near the top of the Forum, so I'll add some news. The Arkansas Tin Lizzies had our Fall Tour & meeting this past weekend. At the business meeting, we voted to make a donation to the Museum. More news to follow tomorrow.
This is a great opportunity for the MTFCA and the museum. Even a $10.00 donation ends up to be $30.00. Please consider assisting your club and museum reach and surpass the $10,000 goal.
Is there any news on the museum grant challenge?

Visit the Wayne County Foundation grant website to see a clock counting down for days/hours until the end of the Match grant, as well as a list of participating organizations. While the Foundation is matching 1:1 up to $10,000, monies raised over the $10,000 limit will be eligible for Bonus Bucks.

Don't forget an anonymous MTFCA member is matching the match up to $20,000.
This is a great opportunity for the hobby!
Isn't the potential total $40K, not $30K, if the anonymous donor is matching the donation AND the match up to $20K. (see BK post of 10/20 above)?
My check is going out tomorrow, because of the holiday.
Charles, I see your point. It is a generous offer and a great way to encourage participation.

I sent my donation in yesterday

A new day, a new bump!
Check in the mail today. I hope to visit in the near future.
Our Long Beach and Orange County clubs will be both sending in donations to the Museum.
Another bump. Called Barb the other day and gave a donation over the phone. Jim
I put in a reminder on the 14th. after sending in my donation online...didn't see any positive response(s) so sure hope more people donate!
Any word on how much has been collected so far?
Hal, I was wondering the same thing. Sounds like the notification has been very well received.
Bump!
Would a progress report encourage people to give or just ease their conscience if the match was met?
Moving on up!
Just a few days to go. Donate now and avoid the last minute rush!

Had a "bake/craft" sale at my office today in downtown Chicago. I'm a bee-keeper, so I brought in 24 1# jars of honey to sell. The caveat is that whatever profit we made on the sale had to go to a charity organization or cause. I'm so skeptical of giving money to big city organizations or massively advertised charities. I was looking for something worthwhile and small-town-ish, like where I grew up. The Model-T museum was a perfect fit! I have to say, people were laughing at my "charity" because I am a young-guy, office worker type that doesn't look like he would have a Model T, or be into them, and everyone else was giving to person-centered charities, so my charity really stuck out as the odd-man out in the list. I preached a bit about Model T's and the plight of the honey-bee (all mine died from colony collapse this year), and just submitted my donation from this afternoon's sale of honey. Glad to help out! Glad my donation will be matched, and I hope to see the museum someday!
Our club, The Dairyland Tin Lizzies is sending in a donation, and mine is already sent it.
No doubt we'll be amazed at the total when this is done.
Keith
Only a few more days for the museum donations to qualify for the matching grant.
The members of the Henry's Hoosiers club in Richmond, Ind. donate many hours every year building, updating and working at the museum. We have also sent in a donation and greatly appreciate all the donations that have come in to help keep it going.
btt
We have received many donations to the Match/Triple grant. Please keep them coming--only today and tomorrow left in the 12-day period!
It is very heartwarming to read the Forum. The MTFCA, Museum and the hobby are so fortunate to have the support of so many wonderful people. I am still busy inputting donations and sending out thank-you letters, and will certainly post the total received once they are all tallied. The local community of Richmond, Indiana is also stepping up and donating. What a show of support! A big thank-you to all of you!
Wow, last day to triple the value of your dollar. Time has run out on the procrastinators, so if you are undecided or just keep putting it off Please take the time and add a few dollars to the cause.

HOW’D WE DO?
Bump, what was the total amount collected?
Inquiring minds need to know
Mark, Charles & All:
I'll take an educated answer and say that HQ would be waiting for the mailman..... and checking postmarks on the envelopes to count those along with the electronic donations
I am still processing donations, so I don't have a total yet. The process is cumbersome (and slow) with the requirements of regular bookkeeping and the Wayne County Foundation's requirements for their records. I can tell you the MTFCA/Model T Museum has received much support from all of you, its chapters, and the local community.
I think the total will be a "WOW" in everyone's vocabulary.
Thanks for the update. We are like the cat that ate the cheese;
Waiting with "bated" breath.
Hello all,
The donations have been tallied. As promised, I am posting the total on the Forum.
What a show of support our members, chapters, non-members and local community have shown to the MTFCA and the Model T Museum.
The total of donations is $53,601.33. This total is before the Wayne County Foundation grant of $10,000 and the anonymous MTFCA member's donation of $20,000.
Congratulations to you all for your support. We are humbled.
What great news! Thank you Barbara for the update. And thank you to everyone for their support and especially to the anonymous donor. Thank you all!
Thankfully submitted,

Pretty darned good for a bunch of frugal people!
Wow, Barbara, that's over $83,000.00!!! Wonderful!
Now, are there any specific plans on what to do with this money? Museum expansion? Or the start of a fund for that purpose?
Just wondering.....inquiring minds need to know!
Keith
Yes. We do plan to establish a museum fund for expanding the museum. We also will use some of the monies for the MTFCA.
That's wonderful news, Barbara. Thanks for letting us know.
As Tony would say, "THAT'S GREAT".
Update: We learned today that a donation for the MTFCA was made directly to the Wayne County Foundation by the Mayor of Richmond, Ind. The donations received during the Match Period now total $53,651.33.
Thank you ALL again for your confidence in the MTFCA. We won't let you down.
