Does anyone know if the C. M. Hall Company also made the 1928 DuoLamp Ford Tail Light?
The STOP word has the same shaped P as the original 1,631,678 patent for the 1926 Stop Tail Light that the C. M. Hall Company soon bought.
Patent Tail Light
1928 DuoLamp Tail Light
Both the 26/27 Hall brake/tail light lamp and the early Model A tuna fish can tail light used the steel word stop behind the red glass up to the introduction of the tea cup lamp in 29. The tail lamp lens with the word stop molded into them for the brake light part are after market, I think, as there was no word from 29 up molded in the glass. They were just amber or red glass like the lower section depending on the state the car was registered in. This would take more checking in the Model A judging standards to fully be sure.
The shape of the letters are dictated by the shape and size of the housing.

Can't say that the Ford '26-'27 stop plate has that shape 'P' in the steel stencil.
Think the DuoLamp was a Ford produced item.
