I know that there is a file size limit on photos. But what about multiple photos in a single post ? Does the (approx.) 115k limit apply to each photo in a single posting, or is that the limit for the sum of all photos in a single posting ?
In other words, could I post five photos, each with a file size of 100k or so ?
Thanks,
Dick
Yes, multiple photos are doable if under the required size.
"Yes, multiple photos are doable if under the required size."
Steve, do you mean, "...if EACH photo is under the required size." ?
Is there any limit to the aggregate file size ? I've got a series of photos I'd like to post.
Dick
I must add, although this is probably "common knowledge" by now: you can re-size your photos to make them under the size limit. Or you could affect the quality by lowering it.
Dick, yes. If each photo is under 200KB, then they would work. So if you had 4 photos and each were under 200KB, it should work.
The limit is 200000 bytes and that equals 195.3125 kilobytes (KB). If you use 194 KB per photo you should be safe.
One other comment - when you attempt to put multiple photos in a single posting, you may only see one or two of the photos when you "preview" your posting, the other photos will only show up as symbols.
Don't worry, all of the photos will show up correctly when you actually "post" the message.
Also when posting photos, or topics and descriptions, if you hit "enter" 2 times after each photo or description, they display a lot better.
Jim is correct. Although the official limit is 200 KB, anything over 194 KB is usually rejected. You can post one picture or dozens, but since only two or three of them show up in the preview, when you do a lot at once it's easy to get confused and leave some out and repeat others. If I'm posting multiple photos I like to write down the numbers before I start and cross off each one as I upload it.
