You don't have to look it up. I'll tell you, that's the starting crank spring. Of the five engines around here, none has that spring. So I have to ask what keeps it in place? Is it just too stiff to follow the curve of the crank? I don't see any kind of retainer listed.

A bit of trivia, the narrow nosed pans used a slightly smaller diameter crank ratchet, probably 1/8".

Larry, I had not noticed the difference in diameter.
I had noticed that our earlier ratchets had a raised register through which was drilled the hole for the ratchet pin. The later ones are just plain round.
