In 26-27 there is one set of discs which are different, but still usable in the early cars.

Lorenzo, the 1909-1925 large plates are completely round. The 26-27 transmission brake drums have six extra lugs inside the drum so the edges of the large discs were clipped to make room for the extra lugs. The 26-27 large plates and all small plates will work in all year drums but the 09-25 large plates will not work in 26-27. I would use original ford plates. I used all new plates once and the clutch would not work correctly. Had to pull the engine back out and replaced the new discs with original ford ones and the clutch works perfectly. Throw away any badly warped or cracked discs and use the best ones that you have. Clean them up really well and assemble with plenty of oil and adjust according to the ford book. It's okay if the discs are a little blued as long as they are relatively flat.

Stephen
