Bought a set of swapmeet fenders and didn't notice till I got them home that this left front has an extension on the front edge (see arrows) unlike the fenders on my '23. The edges of the extension are hemmed like they were factory made. You can see a crease in the metal which lines up with the leading edge of the other fenders on my car. Any idea what's going on here?
Thanks for the feedback.
What you show is typical of 24-25. It meets up with the apron under the radiator.
It's for a 24/25, that part matches up to the radiator apron that was introduced on the 24.

Good information...if I wanted to use them for my '23 I suppose it would require a bit of finesse to do away with the extension to make it match.
Thank you Tom & Rick.
I wouldn't cut the flange off. Just use them as-is, not a big deal.
Side-by-side picture of 1924 vs. 1923 touring cars, note the flange of interest on the 1924 fenders and how it blends into the new apron that surrounds the crank handle:
Either fender will work on either a 17-23 or a 23-25.
A LOT of T's have either one. It wouldn't be right if your a purist. It's a matter if you want to be really correct.
Many thanks, appreciate the education on fenders!
