Reading the card, it looks like it is a picture from Lynn Mass. which is next to Swampscott. Lynn is more "citified" that Swampscott so the runoff from the cloud burst would tend to pond more in Lynn. Just a trivia bit. Swampscott is the home town of WW I vet and actor Walter Brennan who was born in 1894 in Lynn (Hospital), just two miles from the family home.
So he could have been aware of this "cloudburst".
He might have been there to see it.
Another Lynn, MA resident was Joseph Jenckes, Immigrant (about 1635 ) a gifted metal smith worker / Blacksmith, and inventor. He manufactured the 1st coins in New England for the
local government. This man is the one who invented or improved the Scythe that is still used in some areas of the States.
