Shoulda started with basics pulled plugs engine still spins sluggish my be starter problem,, now plugs are auto lite 3095 and gapped at .018 the truck has a texas t dist gapped at about .035 recapping everything as per specs hope it helps

The plugs should be .035 and the Dist points should be .018, i think you mistyped.

Yup and just drove round block I gotta check dist setting it would not fire till I pulled spark lever down a little over half way hummm then stated right up

I was helping my dad get ready for a parade one year when the always reliable TT oil delivery wouldn't stat. It acted like a carb/gas issue. I was looking at the carb when he happened to be moving the spark advance lever. The arm on the distributor moved but the rest of the distributor didn't. The pinch bolt on the arm had gotten so loose that the distributor was floating around independent of the advance arm. We retimed the distributor and all was well. We wouldn't have found this unless we were working together. You may want to check this on your set up and verify the distributor timing.
