I have been looking thru my 1924 Chilton Automobile Directory. It has lots of ads you normally do not see. I have been saving them to my computer for future use and make it where I do not need to look at the original book as much. Thought I would share a few, Ill post more if the interest is enough ...
sorry for the double, here are a few more
I do not know what happened to the 4 ads above, will try again
Donnie, interesting adds. I had no idea that the Dunn Co. was based in Clarinda IA. Clarinda isn't all that far from where I grew up in N.W. MO. and lived for nearly 65 years. I've been there several times over the years. I wonder if their building is still there? Dave
Thanks for scanning and posting all the ads - all of them in the same issue? It's interesting to have a date (1924) for many of the accessories
Those are neat!
I'd like to find some of those after market bodies Just to make people wonder what company made the car!thanks for posting.
I an happy to learn that the crank case repair arm that was made by the Hudson Motor Speciality Co in Philadelphia bracket has an "A hole".
Nice !
Any chance there is an ad for a Martin Perry ServAll cab ?
Thanks
Im getting a little better about the scanning of the ads. This is just from the "B" section of the book(bodies, braces, bumpers) Ive had 2 of these "Chiltons catalogs/books for years. I did not remember the shear amount of ads for model Ts. The "Chiltons Automobile Directory" is a "whos-who of every parts dealer or manufacturer in the US during the day. Today we have the "Thomas registry", as the modern version of this book. I looked these books up on e-bay and they are kind of pricy. They are "selling" in the 75.00 to 100.00 + range. Ill try to post some more, and I may have to do like "Jay" and have a "Ads of the day" thread. Im still not sure why some of the ads did not show up, and then showed up way later, after I had re-posted them.????
