Watching a cowboy film and someone pointed to a barrel and called it a hogs head. Now I always thought it was called a hogshead because it looks a little bit like a pigs head.
But now I have no idea??
So what's the real reason?
Good answer Ed. A picture is worth a thousand words.
A hogshead is a type of barrel equal to 2 standard barrels. The actual measurement can vary depending on whether its used in the wine industry, beer, tobacco, or others. Kind of archaic now.
I wonder if Ed had left the frame mounts on the hogshead, if it would look even more like the real thing ?
Here we go again Frank.
LOL Ed that's fantastic.
Thanks Steve,
I personally miss the little guy!!!

It's probably due to the fact that anything remotely to do with its removal and replacement, during band replacement etc, is a real pig of a job!
