Who carries 12v starter coils? PK
For 12 volt the same coils are used, they're just connected differently.

Pat,

in this thread are you asking for a 12 volt starter Bendix spring that goes inside a 6 volt model t starter? - if so, I don't believe there is one.

Just to add a note to the above posted thread link; The 12v conversion does NOT double the speed of the starter as many assume. You will gain about 15-20% in free running or "unloaded" rpm. Locked rotor torque will increase about 9-10%. These figures are from my tests so your mileage may vary. So the fact is that 12 volts will not double your starting power or fix a wiring or starter problem.
Also note that unless there's a specific reason like accessories for going to 12V, a well built 6v starter is more than enough to crank a Model T engine--All other things being equal.
That was Jack Gates thread. I just chimed in that I was running 12v and carried a spare bedix. I have a spare starter I'm going to rebuild and the information here will allow me to make it a 12v unit on the cheap. Right down my alley! PK
