What is a fair price for these housing if you where looking to buy them? Both sets have tight rivets. Thanks Joe
I did get a nice left side about two years ago for $25. That is the easy side to get and generally cheaper. Usually, around here, they are not that cheap. I also paid over $100 including shipping for a left side that was supposed to be in very good condition, only to discover that some #@%& had ruined the end of the tube requiring me to cut off the end and weld the tube on from another later housing. I paid nearly $90 for a decent left side that needed only a little repair (and otherwise was straight).
I recently bought a matched pair with no backing plates on them. I can't remember what I paid , but they were fairly cheap.
The right side is the tough one. Most pre'15 brass era people that want to put a Ruckstell into their T need a right side '13/'14 housing to match up with the Ruckstell housing so that at least one side looks brass era.
That is my experience for mid-Califunny. They may be cheaper in other parts of the country. A lot of early T stuff is that way.
I do need at least one (maybe a couple ) more, but don't recall which side. However, right now money is way too tight here to buy anything for a future maybe project.
Drive carefully, and enjoy, W2
At Bakersfield this year, I was able to pick up a good 12 rivet pair for $125
