I am negotiating a sale of a T to a fellow in Toronto C. Price to be $10,000. I am looking for info on cost to get the car into Canada. I have the cost of a transporter but looking for such things as fees, sales taxes, exchange rate, permits etc. both from the US as well as the Canada side. Thanks
I don't know if vehicles are different, but when I had the sign business a lot of Canadian customers would have their orders shipped to a U.S.address near the border where they could fetch the goods themselves. Apparently that saved them from paying some rip-off broker fees. Your customer can check with the Ontario gummint about taxes and registration. The exchange rate is easily found with a Google search so you can adjust your price accordingly, or he could pay in U.S. dollars.
Don, make sure all paperwork is completed and forwarded to the border in advance of the car getting there.

Don,
Are you brokering or selling transport ?
Are you offering to ensure that a vehicle you are selling will be able to be imported into another country ?
Or are you selling a Model T ?
Any and all decisions regarding transport - import - export are the sole responsibility of the prospective buyer ..
The BUYER needs to find out if a vehicle they are interested in can be exported and imported ...
The BUYER needs to arrange for transport that suits their pocketbook.
Most folks do not want to pay what it takes to have their vehicle shipped in a manner so it arrives in the same condition they purchased it where it was picked up ....
My experience has been ....
The majority of the time when a prospective buyer directly or indirectly seeks your assistance in facilitating transport - export - import ...
They cannot afford to buy your vehicle ....
Offer to store the Model T at no cost for a reasonable amount of time.
Leave the research & decision making concerning transport to the prospective buyer ....
If you become involved & things go badly - the buyer will hold YOU responsible ....
This the advice I give to any Seller who contacts me on behalf of a prospective buyer looking to facilitate transport ...
