Need to order new stones for BD seat grinder. What diameter stone should I order.
I have the B&d valve grinder and the the seat grinder but I don't know much about the stones I need to order stones but I am not sure about the diameter
John, if you are only doing side valve motors, the size of the stones is not critical. There are size limitations when working in the combustion chambers of OHV cylinder heads.
Hope this helps.
Allan from down under.
I use the bdr 21 for the T blocks.
Thanks for the info. Nice car on your profile Joe
Thanks Allan, That is good to know. I have the machine but not a lot of information to go with it . Every bit helps
I may have some extra stones. I bought a complete Black and Decker set a few years ago. If I do, I will send you a pair. edbaudoux -at- gmail -dot- com. Us Fordor people need to stick together. Both sides of my family came through Nova Scotia.
John, do you have the "stone dresser" for the seat grinder. It is very important to dress the stones to the proper angle. I also keep 2 different "grits" of stones. (fine and medium) If doing the cast block or hard seats it is nice to have the proper "grit". I may have an extra B@D stone dresser if you need one. Ill have to look for it, so let me know if I need to go on a "search and find" mission ..
Thanks Donnie, I bought a new stone dresser as I have read on here many times how important it is to keep the stone dressed
John, I have a B&D valve machine and found a Army manual on it in pdf form. If you like I'll post a copy for you to grab. PK
Thanks Pat, I just found that manual on line and printed it off. John
John, I sent you an email. I have an extra red stone, and an extra stone dressing fixture.
