Searched the forum and found some great discussions about the headliner and interior but nothing regarding whether the top bows were flat or arched. Does anyone know?

This Shorpy photo of a coupe in the middle seems to show an arch, but can't tell for sure (Original at http://www.shorpy.com/node/7020?size=_original)

They are arched slightly to keep them from bending downward from snow or any light load.

Thanks everyone, arched makes sense and wanted to confirm how it was done back then. Thanks John, I somehow missed that post in all my searches; it's a good one. The top bows of the two cars in the picture above seem to have a transition from the front to the back. By transition I mean the header is of course flat, then #1 bow a minor arch, #2 a little more, etc. The post John provided also account for this transition as well. I hope to achieve the same smooth top but still have the bows slightly visible under the top.

Rich,
The trick is not to over pad the top.
Here is another link to a thread with a lot of information.

Best regards, John
