sacrificial tool to make a tool.

There was a recent threat on creative ways we work in the shop. If anyone has a better way of lifting the hood clip spring to put a washer and cotter pin on, please share it!

In this case, I cut off the end of a timer tool to the width of the hood clip. Now I was able to lift the spring and washer that I put at the end of the clip so the spring has something firm to grasp to, then slipped this tool on the end of the clip giving me something to lift.

The used the nose pliers to put the cotter pin on because all my fingers wouldn't fit. I taped the cotter pin to the pliers at a certain angle so it will slip on without trying to angle it.

Bob
